Certification: Awareness Course

Assessment Type: Knowledge Assessment


This course is ideal for people who require an annual update and have already gained experience and understanding of food hygiene and food safety principles.

  • Stating the employees obligations and that of the employers with regard to food safety.
  • Understanding the consequences of poor food safety practices within the work place.
  • Defining the term Food hygiene.
  • Defining the term Food Safety.
  • Identifying the correct techniques to maintain food safety in the work environment.
  • Identifying potential "Food Hazards".
  • Defining the correct process and procedures relating to PPE and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Stating the actions to be taken in the event of a food related emergency situation within the work environment.
  • Defining the term "Allergens".
  • How to respond appropriately to an "Anaphylactic" emergency at their place of work. 
  • Identifying the signs and symptoms of "Anaphylaxis".
