Duration: Half Day

Contact Hours: 3 hours

Certification: Awareness Course

Assessment Type: Knowledge Assessment 


This course is ideal for people who require an annual update and have already gained experience and understanding of Mental Health and Wellbeing Awareness.

Learning Objectives

  • Improve knowledge and understanding of Mental Health and Wellbeing
  • Identify how mental-ill health affects individuals within a health and social care setting
  • Understand relevant legislation, regulations, guidance and good practice relating to Mental Health and Wellbeing.

At the end of the session attendees will be familiar with:

  • Mental health problems and how they affect people
  • Current approaches to care and treatment in hospitals, residential units and the wider community
  • Mental health diagnosis
  • Types of mental illness
  • The importance of social inclusion

  • Managing clients and employers expectations
  • The law and problematic situations relating to mental health
